- If we do away with the electoral college we should also do away with the Senate. The Senate is designed to prevent a "tyranny of the majority" by creating a venue in the legislative process in which a majority of regions can occasionally trump popular majorities.

- If we do away with the electoral college, then we would have to do away with the Senate as well. Out system is designed to prevent a "tyranny of the majority" by representing states large or small equally in the Senate.
